Study: Men less well off or hungry prefer more big breasts!

Health

A few years ago, researchers in evolutionary psychology claimed that big breasts were synonymous with material prosperity. In other words, men with little financial means would be more attracted to imposing breasts.

A question of social status
In their study published in the journal PLOS One in 2013, researchers Viren Swami and Martin J. Tovée from Westminster University in London (United Kingdom) started from a rather daring hypothesis. According to them, men with the lowest incomes would be more attracted to big breasts than richer men. The explanation lies in the possibility that the fat reserves present in the breasts are associated with material prosperity.

No less than 1,266 men in three different places in Malaysia and belonging to various economic statuses were involved. The latter were asked to evaluate animated figures on which the size of the breasts was different. The researchers concluded that men from low socioeconomic backgrounds were more attracted to generous breasts.

Hunger justifies this attraction
As part of the second stage of their study, the researchers interviewed 124 British men. The latter were divided into two groups: malnourished men (66 individuals) and others who have no problem to provide for their needs (58). However, their judgment on breast size was compared to verify the trend of the first part of the study. According to the results, the more hungry men found the imposing breasts more attractive. For researchers, this study proves that physical security can influence men’s preferences for the size of certain feminine attributes such as breasts.

A few months ago, we talked about why men are obsessed with women’s breasts. This attraction is at different levels, such as the unconscious memory of the breast that babies suck. Let us also mention the influence of the cultural or religious factor. However, the most obvious – especially nowadays – seems to be the omnipresence of breasts in literature, cinema, art or advertising.
