Technology

Given the number of rumors circulating on this subject, it is almost certain that Samsung will present a foldable smartphone on February 11. As a reminder, the manufacturer has already announced that it will hold a conference on this date. As every year, the manufacturer will use this “Unpacked” event to lift the veil on its new premium Galaxy S smartphones. But as in 2019, Samsung could also unveil a foldable smartphone.

Rumored to be the Galaxy Z Flip. But it wouldn’t be a foldable XXL smartphone like the Galaxy Fold unveiled in 2019, but rather a modern version of the flip phone.

And after alleged photos of a prototype and alleged official renditions, a video recently leaked on the web. This was published by the Twitter account @BenGeskin, then relayed by the Engadget site.

This video of less than 20 seconds only corroborates certain information mentioned by other unofficial sources, such as the design, the number of cameras, as well as the presence of a small screen on the back which displays certain information when the smartphone is closed. The video also does not give a better idea of the dimensions of the screen, which should have a fairly elongated shape.

The technical sheet that the Galaxy Z Flip could have
Some information on the characteristics that the Galaxy Z Flip could have already leaked on the canvas. For example, the next foldable smartphone from Samsung would use a Snapdragon 855 Plus chip, which dates from 2019. This chip would be accompanied by 8 GB RAM and internal storage of 256 GB.

As for the screen, it would have a diagonal of 6.7 inches and a resolution of 2,636 x 1,080.

Most importantly, rumors have it that the screen is covered with a layer of ultra-thin glass that is stronger than the plastic layer that Samsung uses on the Galaxy Fold.

The price has also been mentioned by many sources. And these seem to suggest that by making concessions on the data sheet, Samsung could offer the Galaxy Z Flip at a more affordable price than that of the Galaxy Fold.
