People who have ever used the Emoji with the face mask know that it does not look as cheerful as most other Emoji. To put the wearing of a mouth mask in a more positive light, Apple therefore makes one small adjustment that makes the Emoji a lot more cheerful.
In the future iOS 14.2 update for iPhones, it seems that the Emoji with the mouth mask is just laughing!
Negative
At the moment the Emoji looks quite negative, as if the doll is very sorry that the mouth mask has to be worn. Fortunately, Apple is adjusting that and we can see in a comparison image that the new mouth masks Emoji is just a smiling face with a mouth mask.
Apple is not the first to adjust the Emoji to make wearing a mouth mask more fun, Samsung already did that in March. The original Emoji from Samsung also had a lot of trouble wearing such a mouth mask …

This minor change won’t make wearing a mouth mask more comfortable, but it might be more fun to share now that the Emoji isn’t complaining about it.
